I didnt hate

In elemental indecision I chose not to tempt fate

And we assued it wasnt too late to settle debts we couldn’t face

When a thousand faceless mazes tested our failing faith

We listened, finally, to a truth we couldn’t mistake

For anything quite less than love;

To which our hardened hearts scarcely knew the meaning of

As it so shamelessly outgrew us, writhing potentially,

In all of our disgust while the world moved on

As if it never truly knew of us;

Upon a beaten path, what was

This bitter, bum luck but

Entirely untrue to us?

How effortlessly a fragile mind

And once forgetful nature could so demolish

Everything we so freely gave to her

Why are we in opposition with the Earth?

Another reason to hold on to better reasoning
