The Reassessment

Pedophiles and demon smiles

With whereabouts unknown

To wander lost a wild desert

Or follow my roots back home

As indecisiveness permits in

Black and white thinking solely fixed

On settling or severing ties

A remembrance of the past

Written softly on passing skies

And I’m guessing you’re the reason why

Hesitancy held me back as my own

Stubbornness saw me fit to lack

The humility needed to gently take off your masks

And all the right things to say I never grasped

Or surely did without much notice

Where mild setbacks take the best of us

I’m tortured by the repetitions

Repetitious verbal blurs

Voices screaming that

My love isn’t yours
