Ode to the West

Four rhythms attuned
I’m flightless and you’ve come too soon
treading lightly on pooling waters long withheld
a latter love left lone to lonesome wishing wells
protected solemnly by the California swells
beautifully upheld; longingly redeemed
while I sing silently for all things freed
Baby, let us move the peace
an endless ocean rising between drunken, stumbling feet
roaming, running strands of the Pacifics passing beach
rejoicing in victories cornered by cavernous streets
and we are One, my loveless one
for you hold a light so Divine
I am in awe of your creation
the Beloved lapse of time
