Frail Time

fragile minds fill strange rooms
stale air where strangers loom
in shadowed night by candlelight
behind black shrouds we dance about
roaming spirits in sunset hills with
vessels trapped in burdened shells

we see Above to get our thrills
yet stay in boxes consuming pills
how long ago have we lost our will
tossed aside irreversible spells
to which our futures hold a beat
in frail time our hearts will meet

locked away for life on the streets
we’re dying to live, living to be free
yet they chain us to our misery
and tell us still we cannot see
but we the wise see everything
everything, everything.
